Brennan smiled at Booth "yes, your my closest friend and partner" she said sweetly. Bones looked across the road at the light she tapped her foot, looking at her watch.
Booth grinned. "Okay Bones.. do you like me, as more than a close friend and partner?" He asked, eyebrow raised as if to say "How are you gonna slip by that one?"

Bones looked at Booth "Well I can't avoid it now, Booth" she inhaled "yes alright, Ange was right I do like you, But you said nothing could happen becuase you dont date people at work after what happened to Cam, and its stuck with me, and I am not going to back down on your word or mine" she said a little sad , she blinked slowly "this light hates me" she said, her heart aching she turned around back to Booth so she didnt have to look at him.

He turned her around. "Bones..." He began. "When I said that... I didn't mean you. You're already in danger. I meant Cam, and the squints. " He looked into her eyes. "I feel the same way Bones. We can make it work. Please?" He watched her. "Bones, we can't go back to what we were now. Not when we know our feelings for each other. I don't want to lose you."

Booth turned her around. "Bones..."
Bren stopped stark still,
"When I said that... I didn't mean you. You're already in danger. I meant Cam, and the squints. "
"Thanks Booth, already in danger, could you of made it even plainer" she said trying to avoid this.. its not going to work she sighed.
"I feel the same way Bones. We can make it work. Please?"
Bren patted his head "Booth the begging man, would you like a treat, I know what you are saying Booth, But were partners and if we become emotionally involved something bad will happen" she said sternly her voice backing her up.
"Bones, we can't go back to what we were now. Not when we know our feelings for each other. I don't want to lose you."
she looked up at booth and frowned she didnt like hurting him.

He corrected her. "Might happen Bones. If we get together, something might happen. But if we cross this street, we might be hit by a car. And if I have breakfast oday, there might be poison in it. But we never know until we try Bones. We'll never know." He looked into her eyes and could see he was slowly winning the argument.

"Booth, I believe in fact, not fate" she said pulling back from him a bit, she completley ignored the fact the crossing light was gree, she just stared blankly at Booth wonder what to say.

"Well, the fact is that we both like each other. A lot. And people who like each other like we do tend to go out together and do this." He leaned down quickly and brushed his lips over hers. It was very brief, and as soon as he pulled away he crossed the street, acting as though he hadn't had the best kiss of his life. But they really needed to get to work.

Bren swallowed and watched after Booth as he walked away, she ran after him "That was uncalled for" she said really pleased it happened, she followed behind closely as they neared the Hoover Building.

He grinned. "I know." They finally reached his SUV, and he tossed her the car keys, getting in the passenegr's seat. "I just wanted to. You can't say you didn't want me to. You've already admitted you want me."

She shrugged her shoulders "Booth, and you call me conceited, you should feel lucky" she caught the keys "I'm going to keep it now" she grinned and slid into the drivers side and hugged the steering wheel as she put the keys in the ignition, she looked at her watch "So late" she drove out of the parking lot. Bren straightened her hair "Booth, this is not a realtionship" she said clearing things up "it was a kiss thats allm no skiting" she moaned.

"Hey, I'm not conceited." He protested, teasing . "It's a fact, you want me. And what should I feel lucky about, that I have to put up with a partner like you, who admits she likes me, then refuses to go out with me?" His tone is playful as he raises an eyebrow.
"Booth, this is not a realtionship. It was a kiss, that's all no skiteing" she moaned.
Booth grinned. "Come on Bones, one date, and if you still don't want to we'll stop, and I'll quit bugging you. BUT" he said. "If you do like it, you have to go out with me again. Agreed?"

Bones Groaned a little ticked "Stop backing me into a corner, Agreed, I love a challenge" she said tweeking his nose "Don't feel dissapointed when I prove my point" she smiled and continued to drive, she flicked the stereo on and changed the station.

Booth arrived well before Bones did. Using the key she'd given him, he let himself in, relocked the door, and leaned on the wall next to it so he could make it seem like she won.

Brennan pulled up and ran up her steps bags over her shoulders, she pulled out her keys and unlocked the door, secretly happy that she hurt Booths pride by winning. She threw her bags at the couch.

Booth snuck up behind her, the opportnity too good to miss. Just centimeters behind her, he spun her around and yelled "Boo!"
